Ashley Brown has worked for a number of years in the construction world and whilst providing a first class service for his own clients, has been concerned at the level of "smoke and mirrors" used by other builders big and small leading to a poor reputation for the trade. He is passionate about helping self-builders understand what needs to be done and let them learn from the mistakes made by others.
John Williams runs a small independent project management consultancy which helps organisations large and small to improve the way that they do project management. He is passionate about helping people identify and use the simple processes and tools needed to ensure that the chances of projects being delivered on time and within budget are massively increased.
Whilst working together in 2007 our intrepid duo identified that there is a huge need in the UK to bridge a gap for self-builders. That is the gap between buying a book (and being left entirely on your own) to paying a huge proportion of your project budget on high consultancy fees.
Since then they have created Property Development Made Easy (ProD_me to it's friends). ProD_me offers self-builders:
1) Guildance Sheets, written in a common-sense easy to digest way by Ashley and John, on each step of the self-build project journey from the perspectives of project management and construction,
2) Easy to use templates for things like project plans, budgets and snagging lists,
3) Low cost support upgrades providing access to project managers and construction specialists either by email or by telephone, and
4) On site support at real world prices.
